Richard brings practical knowledge and depth of experience to Elimint, with over 10 years of web development experience. Prior to his position at Elimint, Richard held a position as the Online Editor at the Daily Sundial from 2006-2007. Between 2007-2011, he was a Production Editor at the California Real Estate Journal, where he produced a weekly trade publication. Concurrently, he was also a Production Editor at The Daily Journal, where he paginated the weekly publication and created original designs for special features. In March 2011, he was hired at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center as a Digital Applications Specialist. It was there that he continued to perfect his web-developing skills using a variety of content management systems.
It was April 2015 that Richard and co-founder Jon Shapiro launched their own Web Development business: Elimint. It was Richard and Jon’s intention to create websites combining Richard’s creative web talents and Jon’s aptitude for fulfilling client needs. Together, they are committed to providing their clients with websites that not only showcase the best features of their business, but one that is manageable, user-friendly, visually enthralling, and uses cutting-edge design elements. They believe that in the ever-changing digital world it is imperative to understand how to code with accuracy and employ the most modern practice techniques effectively in order to engage online visitors on any device that connects to the web.
In addition to web development, Richard also teaches Advanced Web and Interactive Design at UCLA Extension. He also authors a Front-End Development Blog at barkins.com, where he creates tutorials and instructional videos for web development. Richard believes that it is important for web developers to share their knowledge in a business that is constantly changing.
Richard was born in the Ukraine and grew up in Southern California. Richard holds a BA in Journalism from California State University, Northridge. He is fluent in Russian.
